Director Jaden Baek Kim

A senior at The New School of Northern Virginia. He likes learning mathematics and anything technology related, loves sports — especially fencing — and enjoys video games.

Director Daniel Minho Shin

A senior at The Science Academy STEM Magnet in California. He loves volleyball, violin, and trying new foods, and studies physics and mathematics.

A senior at Memorial High School in Texas. He loves sports and percussion, and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Director Joshua Jeongmin Choi

A senior at Lexington High School in Massachusetts. He loves playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer, and enjoys a good time with friends the most.

Director Hannah Jooeun Lee

A senior at Chantilly High School. She is drawn to the STEM field — psychology and neuroscience above all — likes working with children and serving her community, and spends her free time drawing and baking.

Founder Jae Jin Grace Suh

Jae Jin Grace Suh has been teaching students since 1992. In 2018 she ran the first free math camp in Yucatán; three years later that camp had grown into a reason to build something lasting, and she and her own students founded Back to School Together — not as a class project, but as an organization the students would run themselves. She holds a Master of Science in Food Science from Cornell University and a Master of Public Health in international health from Johns Hopkins University, and writes a column for The Herald Insight. Her part in BTST is mostly to hold the door open: the students plan the fundraisers, run the departments, and teach the classes.
